Minutes of Elim Core Group Meeting on Jan. 7, 2007

 

Attendees: Becky Chan, John Lee, Yvonne Wong, Nina Peng, Dan Law, Kathy Hui, Redena Lee, Ben Chan and Rosana Tang

 

We discussed the following items and came up with the solutions. I highlighted your name for your actions,  Please follow through.

 

  1. Our kids’ fellowship needs a thorough plan for this year.  Kathy and Rosana will look into that.  They will either consult Juliana Tam or see if they can buy some books on kids’ fellowship in Christian bookstores.  Moms and dads will take turns to plan for the programs and supervise the kids.

 

  1. Theme for this year will be building disciples, which is also our church’s theme for the year.  Nina has checked with Pastor Leung for details as how to plan based on the seven lessons and the timeframe. Pastor Leung will write a detailed proposal for us.  Then we will have a better idea how to further plan for the year.

 

  1. Feb.’s meeting has been postponed to the following Saturday, Feb. 10.  Redena has invited the elders to join us to celebrate the Chinese New Year.  Yvonne will recruit brothers and sisters to cook.

 

  1. For March, we have invited Law Bok to speak about how to foster a Christian’s life or what are a Christian’s attributes?  Law Bok, please help translate your topic.

 

  1. For April, Nina has checked with Michelle Sun and she will speak at the meeting.  Her topic will be how to associate the cherry blossoms’ blooming and fading with the sufferings in this world.  She will be available on April 7.

 

  1. In May, Redena and John Lee will speak about  “Everyone needs close friends”.

 

  1. In June, we will have annual picnic at Bushkill Park.

 

  1. Between August and December, we will use one the meetings to make 5-color key chains.

 

  1. Next meeting – April 4 at Yvonne’s house.  Time – to be announced.
